Travel:

from Southampton Airport:

  • Bus U1C to Highfield Campus, travel time 10mins, bus every 15mins during working hours, cost £1.50
  • Taxi about 5 mins, cost around £8


From Heathrow Airport (60 miles from Southampton)
best option:

  • Take National Express Coach, service 230, Heathrow Bus station -Southampton University, coaches run about every hour, journey time about 1.5 hrs,  there is a stop on the Highfield Campus.  The bus station at the Heathrow Airport is near terminals 1, 2, 3. From terminals 4 or 5  travel one stop by underground to Terminals 1,2,3 free of charge.  Timetables  and tickets on the National Express web site:  www.nationalexpress.co.uk, cost about £11 single ticket
  • You can also take a train from Heathrow to Southampton Airport Parkway. Purchase a ticket at the terminal on arrival, shuttle busses run from terminals to Woking Railway Station, take a train from Woking to Southampton. Total journey time approx 1.5hr.


Accommodation:

  • There will be a low cost option to book accommodation at the Glen Eyre Hall of Residence (paid for at early registration for the Conference) adjacent to the Highfield Campus. Rooms are single, with en-suite bathroom, internet access, dinner and breakfast. For those selecting this option, please report on arrival to the 24 Reception and Key Collection indicated on the map.
  • Nearest hotel: Highfield Hotel, Highfield Lane (walking distance 10 mins). There are a number of hotels in Southampton, including well known chains, e.g. Ibis,  and a number of inexpensive B&Bs,; many of them on bus routes to Highfiled campus, especially hotels in the City Centre.
